Yes, but caution: You can have sex the same day and the Mirena (levonorgestrel) will be protective against pregnancy. The serious caution is that there may be a much higher rate of Mirena (levonorgestrel) expellation of the device because of cramping brought on by sex and orgasm the same day as insertion.
