What is honeymoon cystitis?

"Honeymoon" cystitis: Typically, a urinary tract infection acquired during intercourse in a woman's "first" experience with intercourse.

Honeymoon cystitis: Is same a acute cystitis, the reason for the name is that is common during the frequent intercourse that occurs with newlyweds.

Post-coital UTI: Has acquired name because it occurs after sex. "pumping action" of sexual intercourse pushes bacteria up into bladder where they multiply & cause cystitis. This is reason for advice to women to empty their bladders after sex thus eliminating bacteria and significantly reducing risk of "honeymoon cystitis".
