Likely related to: Some issues with the alignment of the jaw at the temporomandibular joint. If it only happens infrequently and on extremes of jaw opening, then I wouldn't worry too much as often issue with appropriate joint tracking can occur from minor cartilage issues or imbalances in the guiding muscle. If it occurs more frequently or prevents you from chewing, consider reviewing this with your dentist.
