Likely viral: Most sinus infections are viral and as a result they are not susceptible to antibiotic treatment. You may need to pursue other treatment plans to get relief. See a PCP who may refer you on to an ENT doc to get the problem under control. Some believe high dose antibiotics or autoimmune issues may be a factor in temporal arteritis which can be serious. If you have symptoms of that, get it evaluated

Not likely: I am not aware of any association between temporal arteritis and sinus infection - your pain is more likely related to your sinus condition IF you have not responded to therapy you may need further evaluation
