You have soft: tissue injury and possible fracture,which would require an x-ray to diagnose.If pain and swelling persist ,see your doc.

Get checked: You could have a fracture and there is no way to be sure without an x-ray. Don't walk on it, if it hurts. If we could tell whether or not you had a fracture by reading your description or just by looking at the outside of your foot, then x-rays would not have been invented! Get checked so you know how badly you are injured and how long it will take to heal, too! Hope it's nothing major!
