Sore throat: Sore throat is very often caused by virus infection. Some of the viruses that can cause sore throat can also cause myocarditis. Fortunately myocarditis caused by viruses is far less common than sore throat.

Exact Cause unknown: It's believed to be viral - similar to some that have sore throat as a symptom. So, it's not that sore throat would cause it - but that they could both be effects of a virus. Here info - but it's complicated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myocarditis I hope you don't have it, but more than 1/2 recover. Follow Dr's orders!
