GERD?: common causes include gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), post nasal drip, allergies, abscess, vocal cord or tonsillar issues. Consider seeing a ear, nose, throat (ENT) specialist. Best wishes to you!

A number of things: At your age the most common causes of chronic sore throat: 1) Nasal or sinus issues (drainage/infection) 2) Acid Reflux 3) Chronic tonsillitis The first two issues you can treat yourself with over the county (OTC) sinus remedies - if you have nasal/sinus issues. If you might have a touch of acid reflux, you can take OTC reflux meds (zantac) as a trial as well. For the third issue - see an ENT
