What is health information privacy vs conficentiality?

Same thing: Hipaa (health information portability & accountability act) is the name of the us federal law controlling the confidentiality of medical records. The basic idea is that your med records are yours, so you have the right to say who can & can't see them, but the law also makes it easier for all of the doctors who are treating you to share information appropriately so things don't get missed.
