Repeat treatment: Your first treatment killed the adult mites. However, the first course didn't affect the eggs, which have probably now hatched. Scabies usually requires two treatments--the second application should be 5-7 days after the first. You may continue to itch for a while, as the dead mites are still in your skin, and may take a few days to be expelled.

Scabies: Hi, Scabies could be hard to treat, some people need 2-3 rounds of treatment to cure it and kiss all the mites, although sometimes the rash and itching get worse in first few days and skin usually heels in 4 wks, also hygiene is very important, washing all the sheets and clothes in hot water is very important part of treatment.

It's possible, but:: It is common for the meds to cause irritation that seems like the scabies returned, but sometimes a second treatment is needed. Also re-cleaning the environment around you, (washing sheets, vacuuming, etc) may have to be done again, too. See your doc to determine if it is due to meds or to re-infestation.
