Prostate: As males age, the prostate tends to enlarge with increasing compressive effect on the portion of the urethra that passes through the prostate. Infections of the prostate can also cause similar findings (prostatitis). If the problem has recently started you should be examined by your doctor who may decide to refer you to a urologist.
