For the most part: Yes. But there is a rare chance that taking the two medication can lead to an increased risk of bleeding, as fish oil can potentiate the very weak antiplatelet effects of fluoxetine. If you take are taking the two medications, just watch for signs of bleeding like easy bruising, bleeding gums while brushing your teeth, blood in your stool or urine.

Possible interaction: There is a risks of bleeding: 1. Fish oil is an anticoagulant 2. Fluoxetine has anti-platelet effects because it inhibits platelet uptake of serotonin and thus the paltelets can not clot as well Taken together this combination can increase your risk of bleeding. You need to discuss this with your physician to decide on its safety in you.

Safe: But fish oil has not been shown to be conclusively useful. It lowers triglycerides and raises HDL but seems to have no clinical benefit, especially if the person takes a statin. It seems to increase the incidence of prostate cancer. Proved meds to reduce vascular events include aspirin and statins, not omega 3 fish oil.
