Excellent question!: No relationship exists between your temporal (quick) Temperature and the status of your temporal arteries as evaluated by a temporal artery biopsy!! Hope this helps Dr Z

Temporal artery temp: There is no reason it should not be accurate as there is still blood flowing through the artery. Also, if you feel more comfortable, you can use the other side.

Temperature: What is a temporal artery thermometer? If you are talking about taking surface skin temperature at the temple, it has nothing to do with the Temporal artery, which by the way is a deep structure). Either oral or skin temperature are fine.
