Which part of the eye focuses light on the retina?

Cornea and lens: The entire front part of the eye serves to transmit light through to the retina. The cornea and lens serve to focus the light onto the retina, specifically the macula and fovea.

See below: The cornea (front window of the eye) focuses most of the light that enters the eye, and then the lens inside the eye focuses the rest before the light hits the retinal surface. Your lens can accommodate, allowing you to focus light at distance or near depending on what you are looking at.
