A member asked:

What will happen if you get a booster without having the vaccine first?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies: Most boosters are the same material as the beginning shot. For those not receiving an earlier shot, this just works as the start, all followup shots of the same type would be considered boosters. Some boosters (Tdap) have a reduced stimulant content that the initial DTaP and might not produce a good immune response.
