Few 'stop' the pain: It depends on what you mean by 'damage': crushed nerve?Inflamed nerve?Torn/cut nerve?Narcotics are often first-line for severe pain.If pain is due to inflammation, many drs may try steroids or NSAIDS, nerve stabilizers & anti-depressants.If the nerve is actually intact, but causes neuropathic pain, I'd recommend neuroprolotherapy to quiet the nerve. If effective, it actually DOES stop the pain.
