Very rare: Hi. The "fight or flight" response is a brief self limited excess of epinephrine and other catecholamines to help you hopefully survive an acute threat. Chronic over production of catecholamines NOT in response to an acute threat to your survival is a catecholamine excess syndrome from an adrenal medullary tumor or tumor in the sympathetic chain.
