Varies: Every doctor is different, and every patient is different and every surgery is different. In my practice, pts are advised no heavy lifting or bending and shield at night for 1 wk, then its return to normal routine (except for underwater swimming). Pts experience vary, many see well even the next day, however some may not see well until new glasses.

Easy recovery: A litte gritty with minor blurred vision for a few days. Minimal activity restrictions, and need to use eye drops for 2-4 weeks after surgery. Reading glasses to help with near activity, and an easy recovery!

Cataract Surgery: The lens: usually clear, behind iris; is like a "pillow in a pillowcase". When cloudy/white & affecting vision, surgery needed. Goal: remove top part of pillow case (anterior capsule), remove pillow (cataract), keep back pillow case intact (posterior capsule), place a new lens; Recovery usually less than 1wk; 10-20% risk need laser after 1st surgery.
