A member asked:

What is it called when a woman is born without a uterus? why does that happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRKH...: There are several syndromes. Two of the most common are the Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKH) and Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (AIS). MRKH, also called Müllerian Agenesis, is caused by incomplete development of the Müllerian ducts in utero. Cause uncertain. AIS individuals are genetically male but their cells don't respond to testosterone so appear fully female. Best wishes!
