A member asked:

What is a mothball addiction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inhalant abuse: mothballs contain a variety of chemicals, but are usually organic solvents such as naphthalene, the fumes of which can be ingested by sniffing or licking the moth ball, and cause a sensation similar to alcohol. However, it is far more toxic, and can result in damage to lungs, bone marrow, heart, liver and kidney, as well as seizures, coma and death. If this is you or a friend/loved one, get help.
