A member asked:

What does the gynecologist do? how is it different from the obstetrician?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy: The gynecologist takes care of non-pregnant women, the obstetrician takes care of women, when they are pregnant. Some gynecologists do not take care of pregnant women. Unless they work exclusively in labor and delivery, obstetricians usually also practice gynecology. The money is in gynecology (surgery) with a lower risk of getting sued - in obstetrics, it's the opposite.
