A member asked:

What does it mean when there is increased cerebral blood volume and blood flow to a brain tumor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cancer and blood flo: Many cancers elaborate factors that enable the growth of new blood vessels. In this way they gain an advantage in growth. When seen clinically on radiologic tests, this is a marker of malignancy and agressiveness, especially in the brain where low grade tumors only do this to a mild degree. Some cancers are treated by agents that interrupt this process, hoping to "starve" them of nutrients.
