A member asked:

What does it mean if it says "esch coli isolated" in an infant's stool culture report?

Dr. James Ferguson answered

E.coli is a common stool germ. Its presence in the poo is expected. There are pathogenic (bad) strains of E.coli but this would be reported separately.
