Many: The pituitary secretes a number of hormones, all of which are important. Anterior pituitary: follicle stimulating hormone, leutinizing hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, thyroid stimulating hormone, prolactin, and growth hormone. Posterior pituitary: oxytocin and antidiuretic hormone. Each serves a different but very important role.
