Probably pet/ct: Radioactive material F18 FDG in PET?CT scan simulates glucose and goes to areas of highest metabolic activity. Malignant tumors are evident because are very active, utiizing a lot of glucose for their metabolism. Normal areas of hyperactivity in body include the brain and heart. Very small areas of increased uptake or activity can be detected.These findings help with decisions on therapy of tumor.
