It depends: The antibiotics use for acute appendicitis depends on the hospital antibiogram and policies and doctors preference. Antibiotics are use to cover the most common bacterias found in acute appendicitis; a single antibiotic or a combination of 2 antibiotics. I particularly use a combination of Ancef/Flagyl, others use Pipperacillin alone, CIpro/Flagyl, etc.
