A member asked:

Age 70, ckd (cr 2.6). is sudden fall of bp from 160/80 to 130/70 for 3 days with decreased urine volume a warning sign for ckd? or it may just happen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably okay: Try to stay decently hydrated as your physician permits. Everyone's blood pressure fluctuates as does the urine volume. The sudden onset of acute renal failure will leave you feeling very sick. Be careful not to take meds that may shut your kidneys down temporarily (ibuprofen is infamous) unless you have your physician's permission first; otherwise sudden kidney failure is unlikely.
