Excess insulin: Hypoglycemia in patients treated for diabetes results from excess Insulin - either because Insulin is administered or a medication causes inappropriate release of Insulin when it is not needed. Thus the hypoglycemia in diabetes is the result of treatment, not a part of the underlying disease.
