Normal: In our insurance based health care environment it's common for health care practitioners to delegate tasks under a system of supervision. The health care practitioner can then treat more patients in a given time period which helps keep down costs. The alternative is higher treatment costs. Know that the procedures accomplished by auxiliaries is strictly regulated in each state.
