Salivary glands?: The symptoms you describe may be due to silalolithiasis(stones in the salivary glands or ducts). Stones can form in the ducts that drain the glands, for unknown reasons. The stone(s)will often pass on their own . If secondary infection occurs antibiotics may be needed. Occasionally referral to a specialist is needed if the problem doesn't resolve.
