Sleep is healing.: Pneumonia is a serious illness. Sleep helps the body heal. That said, some medicines can make kids sleepy. Talk to her doc and see if any can be lowered as she improves.

She needs rest: Recovering from pneumonia is often prolonged. Children and adults may be very fatigued and feel weak for weeks to months after the pneumonia. Read the labels of all the medications she is taking and see if any of these may cause drowsiness. If you find that it the case, consider the potential risks and benefits of the medication and if you are uncertain talk to her doctor. Push fluids.
