Vit.d level @ 6. was @ 10, doc gave me d3 50,000units 2x/wk all this year. last yr, took 10,000units/day (levels @ 8-14). why the drop & what can i do?

Poor absorption: Vitamin D may not be absorbed from GI tract. Try to get at least 20 mins of sun exposure per day without sunscreen. That will help your skin produce more vitamin D. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

Vit D levels: It is likely this report of your vit D levels focuses on Vit D2 levels, which are typically below 10. Vit D3 levels should be above 30 and optimal is 40-60. Check back with your doc about D2 versus D3.
