Rebound: With some types of medication the body increases its ability to work against the effects of the medicine. When the medicine is stopped abruptly, there may be an imbalance which causes the 'rebound' of what you don't want. This doesn't happen with all medicines and is not necessarily pertinent to the heart attack you mention.
