Brown to dark: blood just means that there is old blood being cleaned from the uterus. Bleeding might be noted after sexual intercourse as contractions may help expel uterine tissue/ blood. If this is a period then you aren't pregnant. If you aren't sure would go ahead and take a home pregnancy test.
