A member asked:

Why is my apical pulse much stronger and almost beating thru my chest when my heart rate is slow? because when it speeds up like 80 bpm you don't feel it??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pulse: When your heart is slow there is more time to fill and each stroke may have a larger volume of blood explaining why you're feeling it. With the higher rate, there isn't as much time to fill so each stroke's volume may be lower and not felt as much.
