Could be: The more poorly the blood sugar control the more likely for kidney harm. The protein in the urine gives us a gross measurement of likelihood of progression of kidney damage. Need optimum blood sugar and blood pressure control

Albumin urea: protein/albumin in urine of patients with diabetes is a sign that the diabetes is starting to cause damage to the kidneys, medications such as ACE inhibitor may slow down the damage for a while , it is also necessary to control the diabetes with diet, exercise and medication to slow the progression of kidney damage
