Canker sores: There is no definitive reason that people get canker sores. They may result from stress, diet, trauma (constant rubbing from a sharp object), infection/illness, smoking, excessive alcohol/drinking, hormonal changes. See your dentist for an examination and diagnosis of cause, and suggested treatment. Latest research suggests that applying honey can help healing.

Vague: Canker sores are quite the mystery and some people get them while others may not, even if they eat the same foods, etc. I would possibly keep a journal of when you get them and note what you ate, drank, activities, meds, supplements, etc.

Possibly.: Canker sores are typically caused by a latent viral infection that never really goes away. At times it flares up, and causes sores that last about 10-14 days. Many different things can trigger a flare up, ranging from a reaction to certain foods, to stress, lack of sleep, or any time your immune system is not 100%. You should see a physician to make sure you are in good health.
