Wound care : Honey is a topical antimicrobial agent that has been used for thousands of years in wound care. Only medicinal grade honey should be used. The type of honey also appears to be important. Manuka Honey from New Zealand appears to have exceptional anti microbial activity. Any wound that is difficult to heal should be evaluated. A wound care specialist can use honey dressings to treat the wound.
