Do not be: Do not be afraid of that. If it happens, it will happen and the Dr. is used to it. and no one will even know. You would be having a baby and everyone will be concentrating on that alone. Try not to stress on things you may not have control over. Embrace the fact that you will soon have a beautiful Baby!

Yes: If there is stool in your lower bowel and rectum you will push it out as you are pushing the baby down the birth canal. This is normal and common and we simply clean it up as it occurs. You can request an enema (or give your self one) when labor starts to minimize this from happening.

Birth: Yes, many women poop during birth as the baby is being delivered. Do not worry about it. The staff in the delivery room at the hospital are familiar with this site if it happens. If you still don't like the idea ask for an enema during the second stage of labor so that there is no stool left in the rectum by the time baby is ready to come out.
