Dont worry about it: Some people will do enemas before birth to clean out colon, but the bottom line is it may happen or may not. You will be pushing very hard to get the baby out. Delivered several hundred babies and its really not a big deal, our plan is to get baby out safely. Also had 5 of my own and when labor hits gonna be last thing on your mind, lol.

We all poop: Well years ago women were given enemas either in early labor or to help kick start it. So, you could do that or use a Dulcolax suppository. However, as an OB I have seen so many women expel urine or fecal material that it just becomes common place to us and nursing. Don't be embarrassed. We all poop, urinate, pass gas and belch. Its a normal human function.

Happens all the time: No one really want to admit it but many women deliver abit more than the baby during the process. If you go regularly and at the time of delivery you don't feel the need to go, you may not. If you really really want to be sure, a bit of mineral-oil fleet enema (sodium bisphosphate) may help clear the rectum and thus reduce the possibility of this common accident. Congrats on the preganancy and good luck.
