Likely internal: Sounds like the source of your pain may be from a respiratory issue involving your left upper lung and causing irritation to the surrounding nerves/tissues so you feel the pains described. You should be seen by your Dr or at an Urgent Care for examination and likely imaging to identify what is going on. Coughing up blood is never normal.

Blood: Coughing blood requires medical evaluation. It may reflect infection in the lungs or other part of the respiratory tract. It might reflect a growth in those areas also, though not necessarily cancerous. Have this evaluated as soon as possible so, if needed, appropriate intervention can be undertaken.
