Many causes: There are many causes of eye pain. Only an eye exam can determine the cause and plan for treatment. Eyestrain is usually an aching around or over the eyes. Inflammation in the eyes causes pain and light sensitivity. Corneal pain also has a sensation that something is in the eye usually. Headaches and sinus pain may be referred to the ocular area. The list goes on and on.
