Vocal cord problem: VCD (vocal cord dysfunction) feels like asthma but the tests are normal although flat inspiratory loop may be seen on flow volume curves. VCD is more likely on inspiration and can be treated without medication by a team of specialists including speech pathologists, ENT and allergists.

Need more : information to give specific diagnosis. Although it sounds like you may have reflux that is causing the chest discomfort whenever you have a sore throat . Best to consult with your physician so proper treatment can be initiated .
