Be calm, 5th's dz: is a common viral infection seen in children. It is caused by parvovirus. Anemia shouldn't affect the course of the infection which is self-liming, but My question is why is your child anemic. I would focus on good supportive care, lots of fluids, prune juice good for anemia and foods high in iron. But discuss with your pediatrician. Hope that helps

Not at all: 5th disease is well known for slowing bone marrow production of red cells, for about a week, but that is all.In a small fetus doubling its size daily that is very bad, because they can't make blood fast enough to keep up.In a 3 yo who usually replaces 1% per day, a temporary slow down is inconsequestial. Save your worries for other things, this is not worth losing sleep over.
