The duodenum is the: 12 inches of small bowell after the gastric antrum. The ducts from the liver and pancreas enter quickly and the remainder sweeps below/behind the pancreas. The work up needs to determine the blood vessels (aorta, ivc, sma, smv, portal vein). The biopsy usually is deon endoscopically. The treatment is whipple, pancreatoduodenectomy, with roux-en-y loops to drain bile.
