A 36-year-old member asked:

what are the tests for paget's disease of breast?

Dr. Regina Hampton

Biopsy: Paget's disease is a rare form of breast cancer. It is diagnosed after obtaining a biopsy of the area on the nipple or areola. In many cases, there are no abnormalities seen on mammogram or ultrasound. Once a diagnosis is made, a breast MRI may be performed to look for additional lesions in the breast. Paget's has a good prognosis if diagnosed early.

Yes: An electric double breastpump can help you pump more (may only be slightly more), but in a shorter period of time than hand-expressing or using a manual pump.

Probably hormones: It depends on why they were sore in the first place. If they were sore or tender before or at the start of your period this is a response to the hormones in your body at that time. These cycle throughout the month, making your breasts tender or sore at some times but not others.

It is also common for breast tenderness to occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, but it is normal for it to resolve.
