If victoza (liraglutide) doesn't seem to agree with me what other options are there or what other medications should i ask my doctor about?

Diabetes: There are about 12 different classes of medicines for management of diabetes, and that does not include insulin. You must tell your doctor that you are not tolerating Victoza (liraglutide) and seek another diabetes medicine. When you go to your doctor please take your blood glucose meter and blood glucose diary. It takes some time to get on track but with your doctor's good care you should do fine,

Multiple meds: Continue diet and exercise. These days we have many drugs available to treat type 2 DM.Think of Metformin as your base and then you can add on. There are other GPL1 like Bydureon (exenatide) pen (once per week). Some patients respond well to DPP-4s. I personally am finding that the new SGLT2 inhibitors are exciting. Go back to your doctor and ask about these. Go to the American Diabetes Association for more.
