A member asked:

I've asked pharmacist and they don't know: if i'm on 0.6 victoza (liraglutide) right now, dr wants me to start 1.2, from a doctor standpoint how would you start 1.2?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Day after last 0.6 : Start the next day after the 0.6mg. After 1 week at 0.6 mg/day subcutaneously, increase to 1.2 mg and if blood sugars are still high, can increase to max of 1.8 mg per doctors choice. Report any persistent severe abdominal pain/ vomiting to your doctor.Upon starting your 1.2 mg if you missed 3 days or more in a row you most restart the 0.6 mg again for 1 week to reduce side effect. Take care.
