No.: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV, causes intermittent episodes of vertigo--usually a violent spinning sensation-- that last several seconds up to a few minutes per episode and occurring only with specific head movements. Since your dizziness lasted for a few hours, it could not have been BPPV. If your dizziness symptoms return or worsen, see your doctor for an exam.
