Acne: Oral antibiotics are typically only prescribed for severe or cystic acne. Consider one or a combination of topical treatments first, some of which are prescription as well. If your dermatologist feels that you need oral antibiotics, follow the guidelines on the prescription and be sure to follow up with your doctor to figure out when to stop taking it.
