Yes, moderate pain: Butrans patches have buprenorphine which is a partial agonist of the mu receptor and antagonist of the Kappa receptor. This means that it will relieve moderate amounts of pain, including nerve pain. Gabapentin and pregablin are usually better blockers of nerve pain.
